Does the thought of ‘hustle and bustle’, crowded stores and Aunt Margaret’s fruit cake make you want to run from Christmas? Does thinking of another holiday meal (and all of the cleanup and preparations) exhaust you?
Then why not run away during the next holiday season? Run away on a luxury Caribbean cruise visiting and exploring numerous islands along the way. Somewhere far away from winter’s wrath and all the holiday workloads. A holiday Caribbean cruise is just the escape you and your loved ones need.
Pack your bags, but don’t worry about trying to pack gifts for the family. The ports are brimming with shops. Diamonds and jewelry in Georgetown, silver in Cozumel, local crafts, silk scarves and sarongs- there is sure to be something for everyone on your list. And on the Royal Caribbean Cruises, there are even art galleries where you can purchase fine art work and have it shipped home. Almost every cruise ship has multiple places to shop on the ship. Designer names, high-end handbags, fragrances and jewelry are all available. Talk about convenience!
When that shopping list is done it’s time to think about the family meal. But, there is none of the hassle with finding the perfect ham, or worrying about decadent desserts- all of that is included in your cruise. Have a sumptuous family meal every day in the main dining rooms. Linen table cloths, beautiful china and crystal – waiters in their sparkling white and black- it’s all there. Start with a fruit soup or some escargot. Order some lamb or prime rib. Top it off with a creamy caramelized flan or a molten lava cake with homemade ice cream. And the great thing is that everyone in the family will love the food- because they chose what they want for Christmas dinner (and every other meal!) Dress up in your favorite black dress or suit and come to the table with a smile.
After dinner at home, you would start clearing dishes and putting away food. Not on the cruise. Leave the dishes and head to the spa for a facial or a head-to-toe massage. Get a pedicure and show off those new heels at the club. Dance the night away to jazz or rock, or sway to a soft and mellow tune at the piano bar.
Braver travelers will want to try out some karaoke at one of the night clubs.
Don’t worry about finding tickets to Broadway shows for the holidays. Enjoy these shows free on the ships. Watch as dancers and performers morph into famous actors. Laugh with great comedians. Hold your breath as acrobats swing high above the atriums. On a cruise, the whole family can enjoy the show without worrying about tickets or times. There are always multiple showings.
So we find out the question really isn’t ‘Why would I go on a Caribbean cruise for the holidays?’ The question is really ‘Why wouldn’t I go on a Caribbean cruise for the holidays?” We think the answer is clear!
